Kokura-ori used to be Hakama transformed into a boys' school uniform in the Meiji era. We can take off our hats to the sense of predecessors. Using durable and strong Kokura-ori, which could say Japanese denim, would be the best clothing for young boy students as a school uniform. Not just going through difficulties of yarn dying, making beige and white mottled yarns pilled with two different kinds, and creating plain yet not plain is terrific.
