INTERNI OPEN BORDERS 2016, held during Milano Design Week, the world's most famous design fair, gathered the most attention in the week. We took part in the exhibition event with handwoven Kokura-ori and KOKURA SHIMA SHIMA's textiles. Installation artworks designed by a textile artist Noriko Tsuiki and an architect Naoyuki Shirakawa expressed suppleness, strength, and movement of Kokura-ori textiles. Kokura-ori interweaved Japanese traditions and aesthetics produced a unique worldview in Italian historic buildings.
